Dr. James Warner, DMD
Dentist in Mt. Pleasant, SCEast Cooper Dental
Dr. Warner is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry in 2000 and has practiced in Mt. Pleasant since 2002. Dr. Warner is a volunteer dentist at East Cooper Community Outreach and the Carolina Cleft Lip and Palate team. He has dedicated his career to providing you with the best that dentistry has to offer. Dr. Warner is continually educating himself & his staff on the newest dental techniques & approaches to provide your family with advanced, antiseptic, comfortable & personalized dental care. He has completed over 500 hours of continuing dental education.
The doctor has completed courses in cosmetic dentistry, oral conscious sedation, endodontics, implants & TMJ therapy. He is a member of the American Dental Association & a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (something fewer than 5% of dentists achieve). He also is a member of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church & a volunteer at East Cooper Community Outreach. Dr. Warner lives in Mount Pleasant with his wife Amy & their two daughters.
Dr. Catherine Kotz
Dentist in Mt. Pleasant, SCEast Cooper Dental
Dr. Catherine Kotz is a 2005 graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina Dental School. She graduated at the top of her class, and was awarded membership to Omicron Kappa Upsilon, our nation's dental honor society. In 2006, Dr. Kotz completed a year residency at Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program. She remained in Boston for another year and worked in a general dental office near Boston, MA. Then, Dr. Kotz and her husband, Jeff, moved to his hometown of Tallahassee, FL, for three years.
Jeff and Catherine decided they missed the Lowcountry too much, and they headed back to the Charleston area in 2011 to make it their home.
Dr Kotz began working at East Cooper Dental with Dr. Jim Warner in the summer of 2011. She loves helping people achieve a healthy smile, and loves the wonderful patients she meets every day at ECD. Dr. Kotz works in the mornings at East Cooper Dental, and spends the afternoons chasing after her two energetic her two little boys, Clayton (5) and Bentham (3).
When she is not working, Dr. Kotz likes to spend her time outdoors running, biking, attempting surfing, and of course, enjoying the beautiful beaches.
Shannon - Office Manager
Shannon is originally from Georgia and has over 24 year experience in a dental office. After graduating dental hygiene program from Georgia Perimeter College in Atlanta, Shannon practice dental hygiene in the Atlanta area for 9 years before moving to Charleston in 2006. Shannon also has practiced as a dental assistant for 6 years prior to entering the dental hygiene program with one of Georgia's premier Periodontists. Shannon joined East Cooper Dental in 2006 and loves caring for her patients and takes pride in educating patients on all aspects of oral health care. In March 2013 Shannon moved from our full time hygienist to taking over duties of office manager.
Shannon and her husband of 14 years, Brian, enjoy time with their golden retriever, college football, and all things culinary. Dinning, cooking and learning all about wine and food are the things Shannon and her husband love most about Charleston, South Carolina and feels that Charleston is one of the best cities for foodies!
Lane is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. She is a graduate of the University of Tennessee - Knoxville and East Tennessee State University. She moved to Charleston in the summer of 2014 and loves the beach life. Lane feels strongly about helping others achieve optimal oral hygiene.
"The health of your mouth is connected to the health of your entire body. It is important to me that my patients understand proper oral care techniques."
She loves teaching her patients the proper skills necessary to achieve and maintain a healthy smile. After all, "A smile is the prettiest thing you can wear."
Carol was trained in dental assisting in the United States Air force. She has been in dentistry for the past 20 years. Carol is passionate about patient care and strives to make all our patients feel comfortable about their dental experience. She currently assist our office manager, scheduling hygiene appointments , checking insurance plans and helping make the office run smoothly and efficiently.
Carol has lived in the Charleston area for the past 23 years. She has two children, Devon and Dylan. She loves the beach, reading, watching movies and spending time with her family and friends.
Anna has been a Dental Assistant since 2005. She attended North Georgia College and State University. She is trained in sedation dentistry, implants, pinhole procedure, general, and cosmetic.
Anna was a member of the United States Marine Corps from 2000-2008, and took part in Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom. For her service she was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal.
Anna is from Hartwell GA and moved to Mt Pleasant in 2010 and joined our team. She is married to Josh and they have one daughter Maria. She is a member of Seacoast Church and participates in the Thorn. She enjoys sewing, bible studies, and spending time with family and friends.
Having a heart for people and their health is what makes Heather a great hygienist. As a former fitness professional, Heather believes in whole-body wellness that starts from the inside out. That, of course, starts with healthy teeth and gums! She adds,
"I have the privilege of helping patients improve the health and beauty of their smiles every day."
Heather is knowledgeable, professional, and friendly - keeping each patient well informed and making them feel right at home during their visit. Heather graduated in 1994 from Trident Technical College with an Associate of Health Science in Dental Hygiene and has been in Charleston ever since.
Outside the office, Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and their blended family of four kids.
